TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - Sumitomo Metal Mining Co Ltd (5713.T), the Japanese mining company, Monday reported higher earnings on higher revenue for the first quarter compared to the same period last year.
Further, the company provided it outlook for revenues and earnings for fiscal 2026-27.
Quarterly earnings increased 220.5 percent to ¥87.94 billion or ¥326.62 per share from ¥27.44 billion or ¥100.27 per share of last year.
Revenue rose 42.3 percent to ¥540.11 billion from ¥379.6 billion of previous year.
Looking forward to the full year, the company expects earnings of ¥216 billion or ¥803.95 per share, an increase of 22.5 percent year over year and revenue of ¥2.06 trillion, a rise of 18.6 percent year on year.
Currently, shares are trading at ¥9725, up 8.07% on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
