BENTONVILLE (dpa-AFX) - Walmart announced that some of its stores and Sam's Club locations will add Tap to Pay options in the U.S. beginning Monday, August 24. The rollout will expand nationwide by the end of 2026 and to fuel stations by mid-2027.
Tap to Pay is a contactless payment method that allows customers and members to check out using an eligible card, phone, or smartwatch. Walmart, Sam's Club, and OnePay cards can also be added to digital wallets, offering another convenient way to pay.
At Sam's Club, Tap to Pay will be available alongside Scan & Go, which lets members scan and pay directly while shopping. Both Walmart and Sam's Club continue to offer traditional payment methods including cash, credit cards, and Walmart Pay, which provides access to purchases, receipts, and Walmart+ fuel savings through the app.
WMT closed Friday's regulat trading at $103.70 up $0.11 or 0.10%.
