SANTA CLARA (dpa-AFX) - NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA), an American tech giant, announced on Monday that SpaceXAI will use its new Vera CPUs to accelerate agentic AI workloads, expanding infrastructure for Grok and preparing orbital computing deployments.
The deal marks one of the most ambitious AI projects to date, with SpaceXAI planning to scale toward gigawatts of computing capacity using NVIDIA's Vera Rubin platform.
The company also intends to extend the architecture into space with its first Starmind AI satellite, based on the Vera Rubin NVL72 system.
NVIDIA said Vera is the first CPU built for AI agents, designed to handle orchestration, code execution and data processing around model inference. The chip features 88 Olympus cores and delivers up to 1.8 times faster task completion compared with x86 CPUs.
On the Nasdaq, shares of NVIDIA are currently losing 2.11 percent, changing hands at $210.19.
