NEW YORK, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Bipolar disorder affects nearly six million Americans. Many are at increased risk to develop diabetes and cardiovascular disease, compared to the general population. According to a new national survey of bipolar disorder patients and physicians, nearly a third of patients being treated for bipolar disorder aren't aware of important cardiovascular side effects associated with some medications.
