The Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA) yesterday confirmed that “Southwest Border Czar” and recent nominee toCustoms and Border Protection Commissioner, Alan Bersin, will speak at IDGA’s Border Management Summit taking place October 26-29, 2009 at the Ronald Reagan Center in Washington, DC.
Mr. Bersin is currently scheduled to speak on Wednesday, October 28th at 8:25 am. In his Keynote Presentation titled “Words from the Border Czar”, Mr.Bersin will discuss international affairs, trans-border partnerships, and opportunities for the future. Mr. Bersin currently serves as DHS Assistant Secretary for International Affairs and Special Representative for Border Affairs.

IDGA’s 5th Annual Border Management Summit will provide a forum for stakeholders to come together and discuss current issues as well as future needs. The event will cover program requirements and insights into how industry can help in completing successful homeland security initiatives. This year’s event aims to address the complexities of border security and provide support to the execution of DHS and government programs such as SBI, SBINet, TWIC, and WHTI.
