ATLANTA, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- More than 1,200 Crawford & Company (NYSE: CRDA; CRDB) employees volunteered to help others around the world Saturday as part of a Global Day of Service organized by the Company. Projects planned by volunteers in 14 countries included:

-- Feeding the homeless in Plantation, Fla. -- Helping disabled and low-income senior citizens with household chores in Fresno, Calif. -- Planting trees in a conservation area in Waterloo, Ontario (Canada). -- Creating craft kits for children in an orphanage in Dessalines, Haiti. -- Collecting and distributing used books for nursing home residents in Manchester, UK. -- Repairing a school for disabled children in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Company employees also served their communities individually if they were not able to join a group project.

In the Company''s headquarters city of Atlanta, almost 200 employees strung thousands of lights in preparation for Centennial Olympic Park''s annual Holiday in Lights display, a tradition enjoyed by both residents and visitors to the city each year beginning in November and running through the first week in January. The service project was performed as part of Hands On Atlanta Day, which mobilizes more than 10,000 volunteers throughout metro Atlanta.
