TD AMERITRADE Unveils New Online Retirement Center

Site offers new retirement planning tools and action plans tailored to life stage

Investors looking for a straightforward approach to retirement planning now have access to a new, improved online Retirement Center, TD AMERITRADE Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: AMTD) announced today. The newly enhanced site offers a more user-friendly platform, new retirement planning tools and content tailored to distinct life phases.

“We looked at how our clients interacted with our Web site and discovered that there was a need for a more robust retirement planning experience,” said Diane Young, director, retirement and goal planning, TD AMERITRADE. “These enhancements allow investors to select the appropriate life phase - planning and accumulating stage, nearing retirement or in retirement - and easily choose an action plan to help get started. The site offers something everyone can benefit from: easy-to-use, interactive tools and information, paired with objective investment guidance.”

This comprehensive online resource can be found under the “Planning & Retirement” tab at TDAMERITRADE.com. Following are some examples of the tools the site provides TD AMERITRADE clients:

  • IRA Selection Wizard, a new tool that helps investors determine what type of IRA account they qualify for and better understand the potential advantages of each account type;
  • WealthRulerTM, an innovative tool that helps investors assess their retirement readiness; and
  • A new Small Business Retirement portal offering information and tools from third-party providers to guide small business owners though the retirement process.

Investors also have access to a wealth of additional support, some of which includes a portfolio diversification tutorial; information on college savings options, such as the 529 plan; and Bond Wizard, which takes investors through a step-by-step process to help find bonds to best fit their needs from long term investing to income solutions.

At TD AMERITRADE, investors also have the flexibility to choose the level of guidance they need, whether they prefer a more self-directed approach using online tools, more personal interaction by calling or visiting a branch, or more in-depth guidance through AdvisorDirect®, a service that connects investors to professional advice from an independent registered investment advisor.
