Version 10 of Quest’s Market-Leading Oracle Tool Empowers DBAs, Developers and Analysts

Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT) today announced the next generation of Toad^®for Oracle, a comprehensive solution for Oracle development and administration. Toad for Oracle 10 marks a new frontier in Oracle productivity for database administrators (DBAs), developers and analysts by offering enhancements in usability, automation, education, and flexibility.

Toad for Oracle 10 offers DBAs greater manageability and automation, making it easy to view all managed servers while simultaneously performing daily tasks across multiple instances. Toad 10’s Automation Designer enables DBAs to automate, save and multi-execute tasks against multiple database connections. Toad can now execute more than 120 database analysis checks (included in DBA Suite and DB Admin Module), giving DBAs access to an even deeper assessment of potential problems.

Oracle developers will achieve greater productivity and accuracy with Toad 10’s highly visual representation of the Oracle development environment. Direct links to powerful educational content on coding requirements help users follow development best practices. Additionally, developers are now able to generate real-world data for more realistic debugging and testing with Toad’s advanced data generator (included in Professional Edition, Xpert Edition and Suites).

The newest release of Toad for Data Analysts, which is included with all editions of Toad 10, includes conditional logic in automation, giving analysts more flexibility and the ability to create more powerful scripts. Charting and pivot enhancements allow analysts to change queries on the fly without switching screens.

DBAs, developers and analysts will all benefit from a new search bar introduced in Toad 10 that directly integrates with Toad World and other educational resources, giving users the ability to search and learn as they go. With easy access to the latest educational and training materials, users can maximize their Toad investment.

To educate users about Toad 10, Quest will host a free virtual event for the community titled, “Toad: The Next Generation,” on Oct. 28, 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. ET. In addition to three webcasts on Toad 10’s new features, attendees can participate in live Q&A sessions, chat with experts in the Experts’ Lounge, and visit product booths for on-demand access to additional webcasts, whitepapers and product demos.

Toad for Oracle 10, which includes Toad for Data Analysts 2.5, is now available, with North American pricing for the base edition beginning at $870 per seat. Toad for Data Analysts 2.5 is also available as a stand-alone product, with pricing starting at $499 per seat.
