Social Games and Applications are the Fastest Growing Area of the Game Industry
Want to know what it takes to develop apps or games for the Facebook platform? Have a great idea but are not sure how to transform it into reality? Interested in understanding the basics of the Facebook API?
Then don’t miss the Social Game Fest (http://www.socialgamefest.net/) hosted by Cogswell Polytechnical College (http://www.cogswell.edu/) in Sunnyvale!
How do the Social Game Fest sessions work?
There are four sessions available to attend over a period of four weeks.
Sessions 1 & 2 are offered especially for those who wish to gain the technical and design background for making social games. For example, basic Facebook API tutorials will be covered in sessions 1 and 2 two among other topics.
Sessions 3 and 4 focus on hands-on game and application creation. Either bring your own team or form a new team and then get ready to test your concept against other teams.
For people who have not recently built a social application, registering for the bundle of four sessions is recommended. For coders, brushing up or learning some PHP scripting and HTML beforehand is recommended.
The Fest will recognize the top games or apps in different categories. Submission is optional. Independent judges will select the winners of the competition sometime in January so teams will have time after the Game Fest to submit their products.
