Acumen Solutions, a leading business and technology consulting firm, announced that it will hold an Employee Service Day today with the children served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, Fairfax County Branches, where two of the company''s senior executives serve as volunteer board members. The Employee Service Day will include a barbecue with the children, a series of field day activities and games, and activities reflecting on the memory of lives lost on September 11, 2001. This event is organized in conjunction with the President and First Lady''s United We Serve initiative, a nationwide summer initiative focused on community service culminating on September 11, 2009 with a National Day of Service and Remembrance.
Acumen Solutions has developed flexible ways to facilitate their employees'' support of non-profits. These include providing a community service day during the work week, utilizing consulting for skills-based projects and enabling senior executives to serve on local Charity Boards. Acumen Solutions will also sponsor another road race this year, The Race for a Cause™, (see details below.) to be held on November 1st in Arlington, Virginia. This race will benefit the charities that the company has supported throughout the year.
