Commtouch® (NASDAQ:CTCH), together with two Commtouch Security Alliance partners, RSA, The Security Division of EMC (NYSE:EMC) and Sunbelt Software, will host a webcast on Thursday, December 10 discussing Web-based threats that organizations and security vendors should prepare for in the coming year.
The webcast, entitled "Stormy Web Ahead: A Forecast of Web Security Threats in 2010," will provide CTOs, CSOs, security product managers and security solution providers the information they need to understand these potential threats and to plan their protection strategies.
"The blended and multi-stage attacks that the security industry has been talking about for a long time are materializing," said Asaf Greiner, vice president of products at Commtouch. "Web threats can come from an assortment of sources. Malware, phishing, spam and other malicious activities all have their place in the chain of contemporary attacks. Thus, a variety of approaches may be necessary in order to protect against them all."
During the webcast, leading security experts from Commtouch, RSA and Sunbelt will discuss the most notorious online fraud attacks that took place during 2009 including malware and phishing, and attacks sent via email. The speakers will also provide a glimpse of the types of threats and attacks they expect to see in 2010.
"Internet threats are no longer a mono-culture. The bad guys are constantly diversifying and evolving malware to greater complexity in their race against the good guys," said Chad Loeven, vice president and general manager of Sunbelt Labs. "For Sunbelt and our researchers, collaborating with industry partners and sharing data and expertise is a critical component of staying ahead. This webinar is a great opportunity to communicate some of the insights we are gaining from that collaboration."
The webcast will be available for viewing on Thursday, December 10, 2009 in two sessions:
- Session 1 - 10:00 am UK | 11:00 am CET | 6:00 pm Taipei/Beijing
- Session 2 - 1:00 pm EST | 10:00 am PST
Immediately following each session, the speakers will hold a Q&A session via Twitter using the hashtag #ctch. In addition, questions may be submitted to webcast@commtouch.com before or during each session.
