Princeton Power Systems is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Morgan to its Board of Directors. Mr. Morgan brings 33 years of experience in and knowledge of the electrical utilities business.
Mr. Morgan served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of Jersey Central Power and Light Company (JCP&L) until retiring on September 1, 2009. JCP&L is the second largest electric utility in New Jersey and a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corporation.
Dr. Ed Zschau, Chairman of the Board, stated, "As Princeton Power Systems plays an increasingly significant role in deploying advanced alternative energy systems, Steve Morgan will provide the Company and our customers with the insight, guidance, and understanding of energy markets to enable Princeton Power to deliver the best value to our customers and users of those systems."
While at JCP&L, Mr. Morgan oversaw $98M in infrastructure and energy efficiency enhancements in 2009, including $34M for demand response programs. Mr. Morgan brings a wealth of experience and understanding of the complex issues facing utilities regarding the integration of alternative energy, distributed generation, and grid support technologies. Mr. Morgan will greatly assist Princeton Power System's strategy to become a leader in advanced solar and renewable energy system installations, demand response and energy storage systems, and delivering smart grid power electronics.

Stephen E. Morgan graduated from the Ohio State University and the University of Michigan's Executive Management Program. Mr. Morgan assisted and co-directed the merger of Ohio Edison and Centerior Energy, which formed FirstEnergy Corporation. FirstEnergy Corporation merged with GPU Corp and produced Jersey Central Power and Light Company, where Stephen Morgan became President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board. Stephen is the CEO of American Clean Energy, a member of various organizations and boards including the Economic Development and Authority Board, and New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees.
