Berlin (ots) - Leading Greek hotel group started in 2000 corporate social responsibility program
Leadership in Green Hospitality - The eight Aldemar Hotels on Crete, Rhodos and West Peloponese strengthens their environmental strategy. Since 2000, the corporate social responsibility program 'Mare Verde' is part of total quality management. The private owned first class and luxury hotel group invest every year in new solar panels, water cleaning, recycling systems and organic food.
"It's a honour to us to title Aldemar Group as leading Green Hospitality hotel company," Owner and President Dr. Nikolaos S. Angelopoulos said. The environmental balance is impressive. 85% of heat water needed in the hotels is made by solar energy. Energy consumption could be reduced by 40%. Fresh water consumption has been reduced by 35% via reprocessing. Nearly 25% of needed fruits and vegetables are from own organic farming.
"We follow consumer trends to healthy living and sustainability in several parts," Angelopoulos pointed out. In all hotels a breakfast buffet with organic and healthy food has been become standard. Fat-reduced yoghurts and cheese, sausages with put meat, swiss musli, smoothies, fresh juices, dried fruits and sugar-free jam are available.
The strategical program for sustainability 'Mare Verde' started in 2000 and became strong part of hotel operations and development. As one the first Greek hotel groups, Aldemar Group started in 1997 total quality management. This was in fact the second revolution on the Greek hotel market.
Sensational Sushi
Sushi and sashimi are part of healthy nutrition. The typical ingredients, rice, fresh fish and vegetables, are calorie-poor, has many fatty acids and important protein. So, Aldemar Hotels & Spa will launch sushi corners in all hotel restaurants. Start of the new F&B concept is with a fine-dining sushi restaurant at the Aldemar Royal Mare on Crete.
New Director of Sales Central Europe
Early 2010, Christos Tassakos joined Aldemar Group as Director of Sales Central Europe. The well-experienced hotel sales specialist has been Head of Sales for Helios Hotels before. He is based in Frankfurt, Germany. "I enjoy this new challenge and I'm proud of the rich possibilities of Green hotel market leader Aldemar," Tassakos said.
