Four new partners at Noerr - the law firm offers new career path to top 
lawyers 
 
Munich 10 January 2012. The international law firm Noerr LLP goes into the 
New Year with four new partners and a new career offer. The new partners 
are Dr. Stefan Blum, Dr. Carsten Heinz, Dr. Michael Reiling and Christian 
Thomas Stempfle. The law firm also appointed eight new Associated Partners. 
A new career path has also been established for outstanding lawyers, namely 
that of 'Counsel'. 
 
'With the new partners, each from a different department, we continue our 
policy of integrated service and grow in strategically important industries 
in response to the demands of our clients ', Noerr Co-Speaker Dr. Dieter 
Schenk said. The nomination of the new Associated Partner also contributes 
to this. 'We are delighted that we can this year also open the way to 
partnership to many colleagues both in Germany and abroad based on their 
outstanding performances'. 
 
With the newly created position of 'Counsel', Noerr offers outstanding 
lawyers a further attractive career option. This is the opportunity to work 
long-term in the law firm outside the partner track usual for commercial 
law firms and thereby to concentrate fully on their work on their 
professional profile. Noerr Co-Speaker Dr. Tobias Bürgers : 'We are thereby 
sending a clear signal to the market and responding to the wishes of many 
younger talented people for new career paths in major law firms.' 
 
As of 1 January 2012, Noerr has a total of 470 professionals.

Short portraits of the new Partners: 
 
Dr. Stefan Blum (38), Rechtsanwalt in Düsseldorf. Specialisations: 
insolvency and restructuring law, distressed assets transactions, banking 
law and litigation. In 2011, he advised inter alia the Finnish investor 
Powerflute on the sale of Papierfabrik Scheufelen and numerous German banks 
on the sale of bond claims against Icelandic banks. He continuously 
represents banks in legal disputes with customers and insolvency 
administrators. 
 
Dipl.-Kfm. Dr.Carsten Heinz (39), tax advisor in Berlin. Specialisations: 
international tax structuring and transaction advice, transformation tax 
law, Private Equity, taxation of income on capital. In 2011, with Christoph 
Spiering, he advised the UK subsidiary of the Russian energy group Gazprom 
on its entry onto the German retail market by taking over Envacom Service 
GmbH, a utilities supply company in Hesse. 
 
Dr. Michael Reiling, maître en droit (37), Rechtsanwalt in Munich, co-head 
of the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Group. Specialisations: 
distribution systems, franchising, distribution competition law und 
international commercial law. He advises i.a. one of the world market 
leaders for HIV therapeutics on international distribution of 
pharmaceuticals and in the past year advised Ineos on a long-term supply 
agreement for the supply of the European plants of a German chemical group. 
 
Christian Thomas Stempfle (43), Rechtsanwalt und Solicitor (England und 
Wales) in Munich. Specialisations: national and international litigation, 
arbitration and commercial criminal law. Stempfle represented the 
insolvency administrator of BenQ Mobile GmbH & Co. OHG, Dr. Martin Prager, 
in disputes in the course of the insolvency of the former Siemens mobile 
phone division. At present, he is defending communal utilities companies 
against claims under complex derivative finance products.

(local partner), the Berlin antitrust lawyer Dr. Michael Bergmann, the
