The growth of LivingSocial (and its rival Groupon) has been extraordinary, but it is only a subset of an even larger category called online-to-offline commerce. Founded in 2007, LivingSocial has grown to 85 million users, is rumored to have more than $50M monthly revenue, and was recently valued at over $2.9B. LivingSocial is the social commerce leader behind LivingSocial Deals, a group buying program that invites people and their friends to save up to 90 percent each day at their favorite local attractions in major cities.
Tim O'Shaughnessy, CEO and cofounder of LivingSocial, and Dayna Grayson, an investor at North Bridge Venture Partners, will talk about the origins of LivingSocial, the growth of online-to-offline commerce and the future of the industry.
Their chat will be followed by demos from local startups focused on the growth of the online- to- offline commerce space spanning commerce discovery, payment mechanisms and performance measurement/improvement services that support this trend. All presenting companies have launched their services within the past year. The demoing companies include:
Clovr Media
Turning Art
