Spartech Corporation Announces Appointment of Corporate Controller

ST. LOUIS, July 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spartech Corporation announced today that Mr. Michael G. Marcely has been appointed to the position of Corporate Controller.

Bradley B. Buechler, Chairman, President and CEO, stated that, "Mr. Marcely, who was recently the Company's Director of Internal Audit, brings 15 years of experience in financial analysis, merger & acquisition transactions, and financial accounting & auditing. Mike has a strong background in manufacturing and all facets of finance and accounting that should be a significant asset to his new role in managing the Company's financial accounting, reporting, internal control, and analysis responsibilities. We look forward to his contributions in these areas."

Mr. Marcely received his Masters in Business Administration from Washington University, has a BS degree from St. Louis University, and is a CPA. Before joining Spartech, Mike had four years of experience as a Senior Manager in the Merger & Acquisition Transaction Support practice at Ernst & Young LLP, four years of experience in financial analysis and external reporting at Emerson Electric, and six years of experience in auditing at KPMG LLP. Mike and his wife, Carol, will continue to reside in St. Louis, Missouri.
