CLEVELAND, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PolyOne Corporation , a leading global polymer compounding and North American distribution company, announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Richard H. Fearon to membership, effective immediately. The entire 10-person board, including Fearon, will be up for election in May 2005.
Fearon will join PolyOne's Audit Committee and Compensation and Governance Committee, effective in January 2005.
Since April 2002, Fearon has served as executive vice president and chief financial and planning officer for Eaton Corporation, with responsibility for accounting, control, corporate development, information systems, internal audit, investor relations, strategic planning, tax and treasury functions.
Before joining Eaton, Fearon was with Willow Place Partners, a California- based corporate advisory firm that he founded in 2001. Previously, he spent five years with Transamerica Corporation, where he last served as senior vice president of corporate development. Prior to that period, he was general manager of corporate development for Singapore-based NatSteel Ltd. and vice chairman of NatSteel Chemicals. Earlier, he was a principal with Booz Allen & Hamilton in Singapore and director of strategic planning for The Walt Disney Company.
Fearon serves as a trustee of Cleveland's Playhouse Square Foundation and chairs the CFO Council of the Manufacturers Alliance, a trade organization of leading U.S. manufacturers.
Fearon, 48, holds a bachelor's degree, with distinction, from Stanford University. He earned a master of business administration degree from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker scholar, and a law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
