Univision Communications Inc. (NYSE:UVN), the leading
Spanish-language media company in the United States, today announced
that Michael D. Wortsman has been named President of the Univision
Television Group. Wortsman was previously Co-President, Univision
Television Group.
Univision also announced the appointment of Charles Stuart to Executive Vice President and Director of Sales, Univision Television Group. Stuart will remain based in New York and report to Wortsman. Previously, Stuart was Executive Vice President, National Sales. In his new role, Stuart will maximize sales efforts at the 62 stations in the Univision and TeleFutura Television groups.

Prior to becoming Co-President of the Univision Station Group, Michael D. Wortsman served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for Univision Television Group from 1993 to 1996. Previously, he served as Vice President and Station Manager for KUSI-TV in San Diego. While in Washington, D.C. from 1988 to 1991, Wortsman served as Vice President and General Sales Manager for Fox owned and operated station WTTG-TV. Notable positions prior to 1988 included: Local Sales Manager at KTLA-TV in Los Angeles, Sales Manager at Seltel, Director of Sales at NBC affiliate KRON-TV in San Francisco, Account Executive at ABC's owned and operated KGO-TV in San Francisco and Account Executive and Sales Manager at an NBC radio station. Wortsman graduated from San Jose State University with a B.A. degree in Advertising, prior to which he served as Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy.
Prior to serving as Executive Vice President, National Sales, Charlie Stuart was Senior Vice President of National Spot Sales for all Univision, TeleFutura and Puerto Rico owned, operated and affiliated stations and directed the National Research & Marketing and Marketing & Business Development groups. Previously, he had served as General Sales Manager for Univision's owned-and-operated San Francisco television station, KDTV-Channel 14. Stuart began his career in broadcasting twenty-six years ago as a Media Research Analyst at KTTV, Metromedia in Los Angeles, followed by a stint at KTVU, the Cox Communications-owned Fox affiliate in San Francisco. Stuart holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
