Arizona Diamondbacks Fans Rewarded for Shopping Online at Hundreds of Top Merchants
As 47,000 fans stream into Chase Field for today's Opening Day game against the Colorado Rockies, the Arizona Diamondbacks launch a new way to reward fans for their loyalty. Mall Networks, the company that connects top online retailers to the universe of consumer rewards programs, and Sports Loyalty Systems (SLS), a customer loyalty company that designs, operates and markets programs for professional sports leagues and their franchises, today announced the Arizona Diamondbacks as the second MLB team to launch a customized online shopping mall as part of the Diamondbacks MVP Rewards fan loyalty program.
Powered by Sports Loyalty Systems, the Diamondbacks MVP Rewards program recognizes fans for their loyalty to the Diamondbacks by allowing them to earn points through their everyday purchases. Points can be redeemed for game tickets, exclusive club merchandise, limited edition memorabilia, and once-in-a-lifetime fan experiences. Now, through the Mall Networks online mall, members can accumulate reward points for making purchases at hundreds of online merchants including, Brookstone, MLB.com/Shop, Lands' End and Overstock.com.
Fans can join the program at Chase Field or on the Diamondbacks website and earn points when shopping online at mvp.diamondbacks.com.
"Our mission is to provide MLB teams with the ability to reward fans for their loyalty as well as to create new revenue streams for the teams and sponsors," said Les Otten, founder and chairman of Sports Loyalty Systems. "As more and more people turn to the Internet to shop, online malls provide a key channel for fans to earn points whenever they shop on the Web. The Mall Networks online shopping mall will enable the Arizona Diamondbacks to enhance their relationships with their fans by allowing them to more easily accumulate MVP Rewards points."
"America's favorite past-time just got more rewarding," said Dave Andre, founder and CEO, Mall Networks. "On Opening Day, fans get another kind of "win" as world-class teams like the Arizona Diamondbacks join other teams such as the L.A. Dodgers in rewarding their fans for purchases they make while shopping online through the team site."
How it Works
SLS allows fans to get closer to their favorite teams by earning points inside and outside the ballpark that can be redeemed for game tickets and club merchandise, as well as once-in-a-lifetime fan experiences. Fans join the program at the ballpark or on their favorite team's website and choose among several options to earn points. Through the partnership, Mall Networks will develop, host and manage an online mall for each participating team. Fans can go to this site to shop online, earning points for each purchase. Merchants will provide additional incentives to fans to shop online through the mall, including special offers and bonus points.
