This week Frontier Communications launched the groundbreaking Frontier1 Wireless Companion, among the first phone services to integrate the home phone line with the cell phone. Frontier1's unique service uses one phone number and one integrated voicemail box for a customer's home phone line and cell phone. Customers may keep their existing cell phone number, eliminating the need to change cell phone numbers, carriers, calling plans, business cards and more.
Frontier1 lets users switch calls easily between a home phone line and cell phone, or any other phone line in the continental US. One phone number simultaneously rings a customer's home phone line and cell phone. Customers decide which phone to answer. If a customer chooses the home line, he or she can enjoy Frontier's crystal-clear, high-quality phone service and save cell phone minutes. The call can continue as the customer leaves home; simply pressing three buttons on their home phone switches the call to the cell phone. There is no disconnect; the call shifts seamlessly and the conversation continues. Frontier1 customers control when, where and how they take their calls.
Missed calls on either phone are easily retrieved by calling one voicemail box. Customers will soon be able to retrieve messages using the Internet via the exclusive Frontier1 dashboard portal located at www.frontier1.com.
Frontier1 works in conjunction with Frontier's new Digital Phone, which combines unlimited local and long-distance calling in the United States with Frontier's most popular calling features.
"Frontier is one of the first telecommunications companies in the United States to bring this exciting new service to customers, said Maggie Wilderotter, Chairman and CEO of Frontier. "Frontier1 puts customers in control of their calls and provides peace-of-mind since their ˜landline' runs on Frontier's high-quality, reliable network and now works in conjunction with their favorite wireless service.
Frontier customers in Orange County, New York are the first to experience the benefits and convenience of this technology. Frontier's Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development Pete Hayes remarked, "Orange County is an increasingly popular residential choice for many who commute to New York City, so it is exciting that Middletown, Monroe and surrounding communities will be the first to be offered Frontier1. Hayes continued, "Frontier1 is a real value-added service, and we think customers will welcome a way to simplify their busy lives with one number and one voicemail box. It's a great service.
Frontier1 became available in Middletown, Monroe New York and surrounding communities as of Monday, February 12, 2007.
