Chinese Manufacturers Choose Fourth Shift Edition for SAP Business One to Boost Manufacturing Productivity

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Manufacturers across China continue to choose SoftBrands' Fourth Shift Edition for SAP Business One to improve operations and to take advantage of quick implementation and global support services. SoftBrands, Inc. , a global supplier of enterprise application software, is a global ISV partner of SAP.

"China's manufacturing sector has been an important part of SoftBrands' strategy since 1989, when we opened an office in China and became one of the first global ERP companies there," said Ralf Suerken, senior vice president and general manager of manufacturing for SoftBrands. "We've implemented our manufacturing solutions with more than 400 customers in China. The strength of the product and the power of the SAP and Fourth Shift brands, combined with the skill of our reseller channel in China, have helped us get off to a quick start since the introduction of Fourth Shift Edition in China five months ago."

The sample of Fourth Shift Edition implementations outlined below demonstrates the strength of SoftBrands' presence in China's manufacturing sector.

Shenzhen Vapel Power Supply Technology Co., Ltd.

Vapel, whose customers include Nokia, Ericsson and Siemens, is China's leading manufacturer of power supplies, which are used widely in telecommunications, industrial control, traffic, medicine, military, instrument applications and more. SoftBrands gives Vapel decades of mid-market manufacturing experience and access to local resources, including Chinese- language technical support. SoftBrands channel partner LongTrust played a key role in securing this customer. LongTrust interviewed the customer's key users in every department to learn their issues with the current system and processes, then prepared a response for each department.

Daktronics Shanghai Co., Ltd.

Daktronics designs and manufactures display systems, specializing in applications for the sports, business and transportation sectors. With its corporate headquarters running mySAP, Daktronics chose Fourth Shift Edition for SAP Business One for its new plant in Shanghai. SoftBrands' partnership with SAP gives Daktronics access to the strength of SAP via a software system designed specifically for midsize manufacturers. Daktronics is now able to better integrate its operations with its corporate headquarters' SAP-centric environment. Unisplendour Co., one of the biggest SAP Business One partners in China, played an important role in securing this customer. Unisplendour met with the Daktronics management team multiple times, worked to ensure that Fourth Shift Edition would help the company meet its current challenges, and concluded the transaction within one month.

SBS Technologies Shenzhen Co., Ltd.

SBS Technologies of Shenzhen designs and builds a wide range of standard and customized embedded computer products. Fast-growing SBS needed Fourth Shift Edition to replace disparate software systems and increase efficiency, and SoftBrands' strong alliance with SAP proved to be another major selling point. SoftBrands channel partner Advanced Technologies worked closely with SoftBrands consultants to demonstrate to SBS the long history of success SoftBrands has in China.

Xena Technologies Suzhou Co., Ltd.

Xena Technologies in Suzhou chose Fourth Shift Edition over a local software supplier because Xena saw value in SoftBrands' global service capabilities. With a global service team, SoftBrands can help Xena grow and better serve its customers in China and in other locales. The ability to quickly implement Fourth Shift Edition was important to Xena, as the company's general manager wanted to be up and running on Fourth Shift Edition as soon as possible.

SoftBrands' Fourth Shift Edition for SAP Business One is an ERP system specifically designed for small and midsize manufacturers in eight vertical markets: food and beverage, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, rubber and plastics, medical devices, semiconductors, industrial machinery, and electronics. SoftBrands uses its global network of partners to bring the power of SAP Business One to smaller manufacturers that want the strength and security of SAP combined with the mid-market manufacturing expertise of SoftBrands in a flexible, affordable package.
