THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) today released a patch adding Microsoft DirectX 10 (DX10) support to Company of Heroes, the award-winning real-time strategy (RTS) title from internal studio Relic Entertainment. Company of Heroes is the first commercially available DirectX 10 Windows PC game. The DirectX 10 patch adds numerous enhancements to the title's critically acclaimed game-play, including significant improvements to model and map details, lighting, shadows, and overall image quality.

The DirectX 10 patch is available for systems running Microsoft Windows Vista with a DX10 compatible graphics card, and takes advantage of the many new features available on DX10 compatible hardware, such as geometry instancing, improved per-pixel lighting and shadow calculations, advanced alpha blending, and new anti-aliasing techniques.
