The Advertising Club of Metropolitan Washington, Inc., in collaboration with the American Advertising Federation (AAF), will bestow the prestigious Silver Medal Award to Michael Jack, President and General Manager, WRC-TV, NBC4, on Wednesday, November 28th, 2007. The luncheon will take place at the Willard Intercontinental Washington, 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. Registration and Networking Reception will be held from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, with the luncheon, program and remarks following until 2:00 pm.
Given annually, this award honors one exceptional person who has made outstanding contributions to advertising, and has been active in furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence and responsibilities in areas of social concern. Mr. Michael Jack is this year's well-deserved recipient.
The former Vice President of Diversity for NBC Universal, Mr. Jack currently serves as President and General Manager of WRC-TV, NBC's owned-and-operated station in Washington, D.C. Branded NBC4, the station is the news, information and community outreach leader in the market. In addition to career accomplishments, Mr. Jack serves on the boards of the Greater Washington Urban League, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, and the Greater Washington Board of Trade among several others. He is also a member of the 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C.
Past recipients include Tom Curley of USA Today, Ted Leonsis of AOL, Robert Johnson of BET, and Katherine Graham of The Washington Post.
