AmberPoint today announced its support for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2, the latest version of Microsoft Corp.'s services oriented architecture (SOA) and business process management (BPM) server. The combination of AmberPoint's SOA runtime governance software and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 enables organizations to achieve comprehensive management capabilities as they connect core business processes across applications, platforms and partners.
Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 provides customers the ability to connect real-time business processes and leverage intelligent RFID data. As a result of agreement between the two companies, customers of both companies will be able to fully take advantage of the capabilities of these complementary products for enterprise-class SOA systems and BPM initiatives.
AmberPoint and Microsoft are working together to further enhance the integration of AmberPoint's industry-leading SOA runtime governance software, AmberPoint SOA Management System, with Microsoft BizTalk Server. This enables AmberPoint to apply the full range of its capabilities to the latest Microsoft platforms and create integration points into Microsoft's ESB Guidance. As a result, customers of both companies can gain visibility into service interactions within Microsoft BizTalk Server, in addition to monitoring and controlling services across distributed, heterogeneous SOA landscapes.
The Microsoft ESB Guidance provides architectural guidance, patterns and practices, and a set of BizTalk Server and .NET components to simplify the development of large and small-scale enterprise service bus (ESB) solutions on the Microsoft platform. It also provides capabilities that help developers to extend existing messaging and integration solutions.
AmberPoint delivers comprehensive SOA runtime governance capabilities at each stage of the SOA lifecycle—from development and QA through production use. AmberPoint utilizes a policy-based approach to governance in order to manage the health and well-being of SOA applications, providing the real-time visibility and control necessary to tie services together into business processes.
“We're very glad to have AmberPoint's ongoing support for BizTalk Server 2006 R2,†said Steven Martin, director of the Connected Systems Division at Microsoft. “Governing the runtime is critical to an organization's ability to succeed with SOA. AmberPoint brings visibility and control to service networks, enabling our shared customers to achieve real-world SOA in a reliable, trustworthy fashion.â€
