EGT, provider of the most comprehensive video processing technology for digital networks, today announced the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC), a programming and hardware buying cooperative, has named EGT as a Preferred Vendor for their ENCORE and QUARTET Video Encoders. NCTC is a programming and hardware purchasing cooperative for more than 1100 cable operators throughout the United States.
"EGT's encoding equipment will help our members solve some of their toughest video delivery problems," said Alan Tschirner, NCTC Vice President of Hardware, on announcing the selection. "EGT's advanced line of MPEG-2 encoders has built-in features that will allow our members to simplify their digital video architecture."
EGT's video processors provide cable operators with a cost-effective solution to develop new revenue sources. Specifically, EGT enables cable operators like NCTC's members to deliver more channels of content using less bandwidth while reducing rack space and power requirements, eliminating the need for ancillary equipment and allowing for future application flexibility.
"Receiving the NCTC Preferred Vendor status is a seal of approval and a vote of confidence in our entire line of products," said John Lappington, President of EGT. "We plan to not only meet, but to exceed each member's expectations of our service and capabilities."
