Veolia (Paris:VIE) Environmental Services Asia has won a 30-year build-operate-transfer concession for a new household waste storage center for the Jiujiang municipality in Jiangxi province, in southeast China. Veolia Environmental Services total investment is estimated at 37 million euros. The contract represents cumulative total revenues for Veolia Environmental Services Asia of almost 140 million euros.
The storage plant, which will be the only household waste treatment plant in Jiujiang to date, will boast a treatment capacity of 800 t/day. Thanks to a total capacity of 15.7 million cubic meters, Veolia Environmental Services Asia will treat the waste generated by the one million inhabitants of the city of Jiujiang and the population of four neighboring districts. Veolia Environmental Services will also be treating the sludge generated by the municipal wastewater treatment plant.
