American Safety Reinsurance, Ltd., (ASRE) announced that Mr. Nicholas Pascall has joined the Company as Chief Underwriting Officer. Mr. Pascall will be responsible for further developing relationships with key reinsurance intermediaries, as well as overseeing the underwriting function of the reinsurance division.

Prior to joining ASRE, Mr. Pascall was a casualty underwriter with Catlin Bermuda. He was previously with Catlin Underwriting Agencies London (CUAL) as a class underwriter for the Professional Indemnity Reinsurance account from 1999 until his relocation to Bermuda in 2002.
Mr. Pascall began his career with CNA Re London in 1992 as a trainee underwriter in the North American Professional Liability Treaty and Direct Account Unit. He worked on a number of classes of business including lawyers E&O, D&O, miscellaneous E&O, fidelity and surety. He was appointed underwriter in 1998 and moved to Chicago later that year to work with CNA Re's Professional Liability Unit.
ASRE provides treaty excess of loss coverage for captives, risk retention groups or small- to mid-sized insurance carriers. Classes of business currently written include most casualty lines of business, professional liability (excluding D&O), medical malpractice, primary or excess general liability, commercial automobile liability and products liability.
