In its efforts to promote adaptation of Power Line Communication (HD-PLC) technology globally, as well as further develop compatibility standards for HD-PLC-equipped products, the HD-PLC Alliance will have a booth at the 2009 International CES to be held in Las Vegas from January 8th until 11th, 2009.
The booth will feature HD-PLC Alliance member companies as well as companies that feature HD-PLC in their products, displaying a wide range of PLC adaptors, routers, and compatible peripherals. Altogether, 70 different products will be on display. A lineup of second-generation PLC modules that can enable HD-PLC functionality to existing technology will also be on display.
Products and applications of HD-PLC technology from around the world will be on display, including: digital TVs embedded with PLC, an HDMI adaptor with embedded PLC, a H.264 codec set-top box with embedded PLC, a PLC Adaptor dedicated for sensor camera, a Home Control System for windows from outside of a room via the internet using the room’s PLC equipment, POS systems with embedded PLC, an audio/video “PLC coaxial adaptor”, internet radio and “PLC-enabled digital signage” electronic advertising digital displays.
Additionally, the Alliance has undertaken initiatives to address growing problem of global warming through activities called “Green Ubiquitous”. As an example, a “Power monitoring system” integrated PLC adaptor can measure levels of power usage in household devices. Another example is a PLC-controlled “LED street light system”. At “PLC home link system” an electric vehicle and a monitor of intercom are linked via PLC to control recharging and to transmit data.
On January 9th, at the CONNECTIONS™ Summit @ CES, the Alliance representatives will participate in a session and introduce HD-PLC approaches and applications.
Through exhibitions and seminars such as these, the Alliance continues to actively promote spread of HD-PLC technology throughout the world.
