LiveNeutral, a North American outreach and greenhouse gas emissions offsetting organization, has selected Greenhouse Gas Services, a GE AES venture, as its exclusive supplier of carbon credits for organizations and individuals.
Greenhouse Gas Services will supply credits to LiveNeutral from a landfill gas project in New Bedford, MA. Owned and operated by New Bedford County, the project captures methane gas and uses the gas to produce electricity. An independent third party will use Greenhouse Gas Services' standard of practice to verify that each credit represents a real, additional and permanent reduction of greenhouse gases. Financial details of the transaction, including volume of offsets to be purchased by LiveNeutral, were not disclosed.
