Universal Detection Technology (www.udetection.com) (OTCBB:UNDT), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies and counter-terrorism training programs to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats, announced today that it will present the company's latest developments in bioweapons detection technology to a group of investors at the Homeland Security Finance Forum, held at FOSE 2010 Expo, on Tuesday, March 23rd at 12:00 p.m.
UNDT is one of only six companies chosen from pre-established criteria to present to investors specifically looking to invest in the homeland security sector.
In addition to presenting to a group of over 40 investors, UNDT will be featured in the Homeland Security Finance Forum Guide, which will be distributed to over 2,500 professionals active in the sector.
The forum, hosted by GovSec in collaboration with pipeline VB/Research, will allow UNDT to address the critical need government agencies and other institutions have in meeting the growing threat of bioterrorism.
A report issued in January by the bipartisan Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism gave the government a "F" letter grade for failure to "enhance the nation's capabilities for rapid response to prevent biological attacks from inflicting mass casualties."
"Our presence at the Homeland Security Finance Forum will allow investors interested in making the most relevant, forward-thinking strategic investment opportunities in homeland security to witness the full range of our capabilities," said Jacques Tizabi, CEO of Universal Detection Technology. "Bio-weapon detection is becoming a top priority for all public entities, and bio-weapon monitoring tools are immediately available to address this growing concern," said Tizabi.
Universal Detection Technology's bioweapons detection kits, certified last year by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as an "Approved Product for Homeland Security," are designed to detect and identify up to five separate threats using one sample in a single, easy-to-use device. The kits equip first responders with an effective tool for the rapid onsite detection of up to five biological warfare agents: anthrax, ricin, botulinum toxin, Y. pestis (plague) and Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B (SEB). Detection time is under three minutes.
