New hybrid platform opens up new TV viewing options for Polish consumers | July 28th, Geneva, Switzerland: Another way to view both free-to-air and premium pay-tv in Poland as digital satellite operator ITI Neovision launches its new TNK HD retail offering using the ADB-2850ST hybrid HD platform. Polish consumers are able to view a range of free-to-air satellite and terrestrial channels, as well as have the option to buy premium content via a smart-card, and access over-the-top services. The new TNK HD receivers are currently being tested in the market since May 21st and will be commercially available throughout the country as of September 1st. The device comes with ADB's award winning Carbo(TM) high definition user interface, providing an easy and intuitive way for consumers to manage their viewing experience. It also let consumers add a PVR functionality simply by using hard disks drives typically available in Polish retail. François Pogodalla, CEO of ADB explains, "We are proud to be helping ITI Neovision bring a hybrid digital TV experience to a wider audience in Poland. We believe that the flexibility of this platform, and the rich functionalities it offers through our award-winning Carbo(TM) user interface, will make it particularly attractive to many consumers. The flexibility of the TNK HD also means that it will be enriched over time with new capabilities such as multi-room functionality, enabling content to be viewed on multiple television sets located in different rooms. A free over-the-air update will enable devices purchased before this date to be automatically upgraded. - ends - About ADB Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) is a leader in the design, development and supply of high-quality products to the world-wide digital television market.
