* Caterpillar and Shaanxi Fast Gear establish joint venture to produce machine
components and on-highway transmissions in China
* Joint venture will manufacture drivetrain systems and other complex
components for Caterpillar machinery
* Would be a 45-percent stakeholder in the joint venture
* Fast gear, partly owned by Weichai Power Co would have 51 percent, shaanxi
fast auto drive group would hold 4-percent stake
* Says jv will build upon existing cat cx series on-highway transmission
product line to expand globally
