Utility campaign features eight summer weekend events, community outreach and the PSE Bulb Mobile to help customers save energy, money and the planet
Puget Sound Energy:
What: |  | The launch of PSE's Rock the BulbTM: The Re-Energize Tour campaign will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 8 at the tour's first retail event location – Northshore Ace Hardware in Federal Way. The event will feature kids from the Federal Way Boys and Girls Club demonstrating the energy saved by compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs, and showcase PSE's Bulb Mobile. New to the campaign this year, the PSE Bulb Mobile is a customized truck run on biodiesel that will deliver free CFL bulbs around the Puget Sound area this summer. Media will be offered a preview and walkthrough of the retail event activities by a PSE spokesperson and the opportunity to hand out free CFL bulbs with the Bulb Mobile following the media launch. |

The PSE Rock the Bulb: The Re-Energize Tour campaign builds on the success of the 2009 PSE Rock the Bulb: Unplugged campaign and will include a series of eight weekend bulb-exchange and energy-education events in July and August. Those events, combined with community event outreach and the Bulb Mobile, will distribute 200,000 free ENERGY STAR®-qualified CFL bulbs. | ||
| Â | ||
| PSE residential electric customers will be able to exchange up to 10 incandescent bulbs for the same number of free CFL bulbs, learn about ways to lower home energy use, enter to win efficient appliances from Whirlpool, and receive other prizes from campaign sponsors. They will also have a chance to enter PSE's Solar Power Sweepstakes by signing up to voluntarily purchase Green Power and compete for a free residential solar-power system worth $10,000 (no purchase required). PSE representatives fluent in several languages will be at the events to encourage participation by non-English-speaking customers and answer everyone's questions about energy efficiency. Retail events will be held on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at local retailers in PSE's electric service area. | ||
