Trade Mission to be Supported by Private Sector Funds
Rajant Corporation, the pioneer of Kinetic Mesh Networks and provider of pervasive, multi-frequency wireless solutions, today announced that Bob Schena, founder and CEO, will join Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett on a European Trade Mission to France and Germany from March 18-23. The purpose of the mission is to focus on connecting Pennsylvania companies with potential export partners and encouraging international businesses to invest in the commonwealth.
"I am extremely proud to represent Rajant and join Governor Corbett in his effort to identify and nurture opportunities for the commonwealth so this is a natural fit for us," said Mr. Schena. "Rajant is expanding globally as we have grown our operations in North, Central and South America, Australia and Asia. We now have a great opportunity to increase exposure in Europe. We found the trade mission to India in 2011 to be extremely useful and are looking forward to take what we learned there to make this as successful."
France and Germany are two of Pennsylvania's most important trade partners. Combined, they represent the state's fourth-largest export market and top source of foreign direct investment in Pennsylvania. In 2010, Pennsylvania companies exported more than $767 million of goods and services to France and more than $1.4 billion to Germany. Currently, 438 French-based firms employ more than 18,500 people in Pennsylvania, and 707 German-based firms employ more than 34,900 in the state.
This mission is privately funded and has been organized by the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, a private non-profit partnership with the commonwealth.
