CapitalSource Bank recently awarded 24 cash donations totaling $50,000 to nonprofit organizations through its employee-driven Holiday Donation Program. Organizations were nominated and selected by employees based on cause, need, and personal involvement.
"CapitalSource Bank employees identified deserving groups in our local markets where our cash donation is most needed. Often times, employees will nominate an organization because of their personal experience and involvement. Other times, it's purely the cause itself that motivates an employee to participate in this unique program," said Tad Lowrey, CapitalSource Bank CEO. "Each of the organizations our employees selected does great work, tangibly improving the quality of life for their beneficiaries and our communities. CapitalSource Bank is proud to help these organizations start off the new year and help them in achieving their missions and goals."
Since being founded in 2008, CapitalSource Bank has become a leader in the California banking market and has matched its financial strength by establishing a strong record of giving back. Last year, CapitalSource Bank received an "Outstanding" rating for its Community Reinvestment activities—the highest rating a bank can achieve. The Bank also received a $600,000 Enterprise Award from the U.S. Treasury in 2010, which was redeployed into investments beneficial to our communities. In addition to financial contributions from the Bank, a large number of CapitalSource Bank employees participate in the Junior Achievement program in southern California, teaching youth about financial responsibility. In fact, a significant percentage of Bank employees across the country are involved with local charities and organizations, giving their time and money. In 2011, CapitalSource Bank employees volunteered more than 2,500 hours and donated over $200,000 to local charities.
This year's recipients of the CapitalSource Bank Holiday Donation program were: ALS Association Orange County Chapter, Assistance League of Tustin, Caterina's Club, Colette's Children's Home, Concept 7, Elizabeth House, Family Service Association of Redlands, Foothill Unity Center, Golden Empire Gleaners, Kern Bridges Youth Home, Los Angeles Youth Network, Little Blue House, MACH 1, Many Mansions, Meals on Wheels West, MEND, Orange County Rescue Mission, Scott Newman Center, SOME, Susan G.
