Littelfuse, Inc., in partnership with Plant Services Magazine, will offer a complimentary web-based seminar titled "Technologies to Reduce Arc-Flash Hazards," on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 2 pm Eastern Time.
This webcast will offer practical tips for reducing the risk of hazardous conditions, such as Arc Flash, with minimal interruption to plant operations.
"Plant electrical workers and power system designers are always looking for different strategies to reduce the risk of Arc Flash," said Tony Locker, P.E. of Littelfuse. Highlighting what plant managers, plant engineers and electricians are doing to lower the arc flash incident energy and make their workplace safer, this webinar will give an overview of the different technologies for reducing arc flash hazards with an emphasis on arc flash relays - how they work and best practices in their application.
This webinar will discuss the latest electrical safety trends, best practices and more, including:
- Ways to lower incident energy with arc flash relays
- Why arc flash is so dangerous
- Technologies to lower the risk or arc flash
- Current-limiting fuses and circuit breakers
- High-resistance grounding
- Arc-flash protection switchgear
- Arc-flash relay applications/examples
- How arc-flash relays work
"Technologies to Reduce Arc-Flash Hazards" will be broadcast on February 29, 2012 at 2 pm Eastern Time (11 am PST/1 pm CST). The event is open to the public at no cost, but advance registration is required. The seminar will also be archived on the Littelfuse website for those unable to attend the original broadcast.
The webinar will be presented by Tony Locker, P.E., an authority on arc flash and electrical safety and moderated by Plant Services Editor in Chief Mike Bacidore. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the presenter in this live event.
