Providence Place Cinemas 16 and IMAX completes $3 million in renovations and digital upgrades
Following a two-year renovation, National Amusements, a leader in the motion picture exhibition industry announces today the re-opening of the IMAX theatre at Providence Place in Providence, Rhode Island. The company's 3 million dollar reinvestment includes a new IMAX digital screen, 32,000 watt state-of-the-art sound system and a newly updated lobby area including a new concession facility with digital menu systems.

The renovations made by National Amusements have also incorporated changes to Providence Place Cinemas 16, including a refurbished lobby area with expanded food service and new menu offerings at Chatter's Bar & Grill featuring full alcohol service. The entire Providence Place Cinemas 16 and IMAX now offer state-of-the-art digital projection featuring Sony Digital 4K.
Providence Mayor Angel Taveras will be joining National Amusements at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. marking the grand re-opening of the IMAX theatre.
