BURNSVILLE, Minn., Feb. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Let the races begin! The 14th Annual SUBWAY® BEDRACE FOR BRIDGING presented by Cities 97 will take off down Buck Hill on Saturday, March 3, 2012, beginning at 5 p.m. Teams of four, many in colorful costumes, will race down the tubing hill atop provided specially-covered mattresses. One hundred percent of registration fees and pledges benefit Bridging.
The SUBWAY® BEDRACE FOR BRIDGING was created in 1999 by local SUBWAY® Restaurants to raise awareness and funds for Bridging, a Bloomington-based non-profit organization that supports more than 5,000 families transitioning out of homelessness and poverty each year. By providing furniture and household goods to families in need, Bridging gives hope to thousands.
The event has grown from less than 20 teams racing down Buck Hill's tubing slope, to an annual event that, since its inception, has raised more than a half-million dollars to support families transitioning out of homelessness. For more information, please visit Bridging.org.
Come for the race and stay for the concert presented by Cities 97 which will start at approximately 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to top teams for speed and fundraising efforts in the SUBWAY® BEDRACE FOR BRIDGING. Trophies will also be presented to the best dressed in the Cities 97 Costume Contest.
Buck Hill Ski Area is located at 15400 Buck Hill Road in Burnsville, Minn.
This event is made possible by the generosity of sponsors including: SUBWAY® restaurants, Cities 97, KARE 11 TV, Delta, Donaldson, Northwestern Mutual, Lockton Companies, Coldwell Banker and Buck Hill Ski Area.
