De Bilt, 17 April 2012 - The European Union has awarded an international consortium led by Grontmij a follow-up contract to facilitate the dialogue between the EU and China under the so-called 'EU-China Policy Dialogue Support Facility II' (PDSF II). The total contract value is € 10.2 million. The fee for Grontmij is over € 3 million. The project is due to finish in spring 2016.
The PDSF II is a facilitation project designed to strengthen the dialogue between Chinese authorities and EU institutions in areas of common interest. More specifically, these areas focus on issues related to the environment, climate change, energy, social development and public health.
Over the next four years, the international consortium will help to expand the cooperation between the two regions. Grontmij's role will be to coordinate the dialogue activities within the focus areas and to provide specific expertise. Grontmij has relevant experience, as it managed a similar project, PDSF I, from 2007 to 2011.
Gert Dral, member of the Executive Board of Grontmij N.V.: 'We are pleased that we can contribute to the further dialogue between the Chinese authorities and the EU institutions. Grontmij has a strong European foothold and excellent Chinese project references, especially in environment and energy efficiency. This puts us in an outstanding position to lead the project and to contribute to the general development of both regions'.
