Mechelen, Belgium; 23 May 2012 - Galapagos NV (Euronext: GLPG) announced today that it has received a transparency notification pursuant to the Belgian transparency legislation (Belgian Act of 2 May 2007) concerning major holdings in Belgian listed companies from Capital Research and Management Company.
Galapagos received a transparency notification on 17 May 2012 from Capital Research and Management Company, who acts as investment adviser of SMALLCAP World Fund, Inc. (Los Angeles, USA). Capital Research and Management Company notified that on 15 May 2012 SMALLCAP World Fund, Inc. held 1,353,176 shares, which represent 5.10% of the current 26,558,855 outstanding Galapagos shares.
