New Solution Ensures Secure Transport for Mission-Critical Data

Milan, Italy. May 23, 2012. ADVA Optical Networking (http://www.advaoptical.com/) announced today that Equens S.p.A., a leader in payment services for European financial customers, has selected the FSP 3000 (http://www.advaoptical.com/en/products/scalable-optical-transport/fsp-3000.aspx) to connect its data centers in Milan, Italy. Equens S.p.A.'s network uses the FSP 3000 to transport mission-critical data and highly confidential information. To ensure the integrity and availability of this data, the network has been configured for maximum security and highest availability focusing on business continuity, disk mirroring and disaster recovery.

"Our business depends upon the reliability and high availability of our network. It's critical to both our success and our customers' success," explained Guido Gatti, general manager operations, Equens S.p.A. "ADVA Optical Networking addresses these demands. In fact, that's why they've been a trusted partner for so long. The architecture has been implemented to always ensure the maximum availability of the data. This ensures protection on your investment and that your data is always available and accessible. The FSP 3000 is recognized in the financial community as the one data transport solution with the highest certification program in the storage environment."

The FSP 3000 is a scalable Wavelength Division Multiplexing (http://www.advaoptical.com/en/products/technology/wdm.aspx) (WDM) system built to specific enterprise needs and networking demands. The modular design ensures a flexible network foundation and securely delivers mission-critical data across large distances and multiple protocols. Equens S.p.A. is now able to optimize its bandwidth use with several wavelengths, and can easily upgrade or connect to other systems, saving time and resources.

"We designed this network with several key objectives: high availability, scalability, small footprint and low power consumption," said Fabrice Jean, vice president, sales, Northern and Southwest Europe, ADVA Optical Networking. "By doing this, we enable Equens S.p.A. to continue offering exceptional service to its finance customers, while also abiding by strict service level agreements and regulations. Having already deployed our equipment in some of the world's leading financial markets, we have extensive experience to draw upon and were able to build a solution that exceeds all current demands and will grow with the organization."
