Triton acquires approximately 13 percent of Kontron AG
- Kontron management welcomes Triton's investment
- Triton has no intention of becoming a controlling shareholder
- Acquisition of additional shares will depend on share price development

Eching/Frankfurt, 23/05/2012 - Today the independent investment firm Triton
informed the TecDAX-listed company Kontron AG that it has exceeded the
reporting threshold of ten percent. Triton currently holds 12.87 percent of
Kontron. The firm may increase its stake in the medium term, depending on
Kontron's share price development. However, Triton has no intention of
becoming a controlling shareholder.
With the acquisition of the stake Triton becomes a major shareholder of the
German computer specialist Kontron alongside Warburg Pincus, a US private
equity fund, which currently holds around 19 percent. Ulrich Gehrmann, CEO
of Kontron, welcomes Triton's investment: 'We are pleased to have Triton on
board as an experienced investor with a long-term investment horizon that
supports our strategy.'
Triton will be looking for continuity at Kontron. Its aim is to cooperate
constructively with the management and existing shareholders. 'The
company's growth and profit potential and the professionalism of its
management have convinced us,' said a Triton spokesperson. 'We are certain
that Kontron has the potential to develop successfully in the long term and
as one of its shareholders we want to make a positive contribution to the
company's success.'
