Regulatory News:
Transmashholding (TMH), in partnership with Alstom, has awarded Faiveley Transport (Paris:LEY) a contract to supply braking systems for 40 locomotives EP20.
Equipment will include bogie brakes (disc and C3 brake station), oil free air generation treatment units, brake indicators and auxiliary compressors. The systems have been designed to operate in extreme climatic conditions where temperatures can drop to -50°C.
Production will take place in three of Faiveley Transport's European sites, with strong engineering support from the centres of competences.
"We worked very closely with Alstom and TMH thanks to a strong commercial team based in Russia", said Marc Jammot, Brakes & Safety Director. "We have developed lighter and more compact products enhancing the technical performance of our systems. This order clearly confirms the confidence that the Russian Railways industry has placed in Faiveley Transport."
"This contract is particularly important for Faiveley Transport at a time when Russia is investing heavily to prepare for the 2014 winter Olympic games in Sochi", said Thierry Barel, Chairman and CEO. "It also reinforces our long term commitment to develop a strong presence in Russia, one of our key strategic markets."
First prototypes will be delivered in 2012/2013 and serial production will take place in 2013 and 2014.
