VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/01/12 -- The African Children's Choir melts the hearts of Audiences with their charming smiles, beautiful voices and lively African songs and dances. The program features well-loved children's songs, traditional Spirituals and rhythmic Gospel Favorites. Nearly every performance is concluded with a thunderous standing ovation! In spite of the tragedy that has marred their young lives; the children are radiant with hope and joy; musically gifted and always wonderfully entertaining.
The African Children's Choir is made up of some of the neediest and most vulnerable children in Africa. Many have lost one or both parents to poverty or disease. The Choir has been working with children in Africa since 1984; the purpose of the African Children's Choir is to raise global awareness of the plight of the millions of orphaned and abandoned children in Africa, but also showing the beauty, dignity and potential of each African Child!
The African Children's Choir has had the privilege to perform before presidents, heads of state and most recently the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II, for her diamond jubilee. The Choir has also had the honor of singing alongside artist such as Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox, Faith Hill, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Mariah Carry, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman and other inspirational performers!
Music For Life Institute's (MFL) (The parent organization for the African Children's Choir) purpose is to help create new leadership for tomorrow's Africa, with a focus on education. By helping the most vulnerable children in Africa today, they can help Africa tomorrow. Music for Life works in seven African countries such as, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. MFL has educated over 52,000 children and impacted the lives of over 100,000 people through its relief and development programs during its history.
In addition to education the Music For Life finances numerous relief and development projects throughout Africa, including the Music for Life Centers in South Africa, and food relief containers to Africa's newest country Southern Sudan.
Concerts are free and open to all. A free-will offering is taken at the performance to support African Children's Choir programs. Donations directly support the expansion of sponsorship and education programs for both current Choir children as well as the thousands of other children the Choir represents. Please come and partner with us to make an impact in the lives of these precious children and their country.
