Anne Marie Squeo Joins 30 Point Strategies as Managing Director

WASHINGTON, April 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Anne Marie Squeo, a senior corporate executive and Pulitzer-winning journalist, has joined 30 Point Strategies, a strategic communications firm, as managing director, starting May 6.

Based in Washington, Anne Marie, 45, will spearhead 30 Point Strategies' efforts in media engagement, crisis communications and helping clients build integrated strategies that advance business goals.

Squeo joins 30 Point Strategies from Lockheed Martin, where she served as a vice president of communications for nearly four years, including managing a 150-member team for the company's then-largest business. In her tenure, she oversaw all forms of communication including media, marketing, executive and employee engagement and crisis situations. Prior to Lockheed, Anne Marie was director of public affairs for Raytheon, where she managed relationships with top-tier and international media, as well as industry think tanks.

"Anne Marie's success in both the client and journalism worlds demonstrates her proven ability to quickly connect the dots and apply critical thinking to any situation," said Adam Levy, co-founder of 30 Point Strategies. "In a career that spans more than 24 years, she has earned a durable reputation as a trusted advisor, clear thinker and persuasive leader."

Prior to transitioning to corporate communications, Squeo spent nearly 15 years as a journalist, including more than seven years at The Wall Street Journal. In this role, she won the Gerald Loeb Award in 2004 for Beat Reporting and was part of a small team that won the Pulitzer Prize in 2000 for National Reporting. She began her journalism career at Bloomberg News, where she led antitrust reporting during a period of heightened government activity.

"Anne Marie's wide network and deep knowledge of different industries including aerospace and defense, technology, and media and telecommunications will broaden our company's reach and position us for continued growth," said Noam Neusner, co-founder of 30 Point Strategies and former speechwriter for President George W. Bush. "In her role as managing director, Anne Marie will be an essential part of our leadership team and plans for the future."

Today's announcement follows last month's hiring of Loren Steffy, the award-winning business columnist for the Houston Chronicle as a senior writer based in Houston. Steffy is focused on helping clients manage complex and controversial issues and craft strong positions and messages.
