Wilhjelm will take over as new CEO of Solar A/S.
Group CFO Flemming H. Tomdrup wants to resign to devote his time to board memberships, his family and hobbies.
We are very pleased to announce his successor in this position, Anders Wilhjelm, who will take over as CEO on 1 May 2014.
Anders Wilhjelm, a 47-year-old Dane, joins us from a position as CEO in GEA Process Engineering. Here, he is responsible for 5,500 employees and revenue exceeding € 1.7bn distributed on more than 40 countries. GEA Process Engineering is a business segment in the German GEA Group, where Anders Wilhjelm also forms part of an Executive Management Team.
Previously, Anders Wilhjelm has worked at Danisco, where he held a number of management positions both in Denmark and abroad. He has also worked at McKinsey & Company and Carlsberg.
Anders Wilhjelm has a Master of Forestry degree (Msc Forestry) from Copenhagen University, accompanied by an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.
We want to thank Flemming H. Tomdrup for his impressive efforts at Solar since 2006. Using change management, he has contributed to the further development of our managers and employees, thus creating a dynamic organisation ready to take on future challenges.
