Micron Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:MU), today announced that the company has named
Joel Poppen vice president of legal affairs, general counsel and corporate
secretary. Poppen succeeds Rod Lewis, who recently announced his retirement
after 22 years at Micron.
Poppen will be responsible for Micron's legal, intellectual property, ethics and compliance and government affairs functions. He joined Micron in 1995 and has held various roles of increased responsibility over time, most recently as deputy general counsel.
"Joel has a very strong legal background and deep experience in the technology industry," said Micron CEO Mark Durcan. "We are excited about the leadership Joel brings to his new executive role and look forward to his continued contributions to Micron."
Poppen holds a juris doctor degree from Duke University School of Law and a bachelor's of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
