NIRI San Diego to Host Special Luncheon with LinkedIn's Head of Investor Education, Matt Sonefeldt, on May 15

SAN DIEGO, April 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The San Diego Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) will host a special event with LinkedIn's Head of Investor Education, Matt Sonefeldt, on Thursday, May 15, 2014. The luncheon will be held at the corporate headquarters of Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc.in San Diego, CA.

The program will feature a fireside chat with Matt, discussing his investor relations experience at LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network on the Internet. Specifically, the discussion is expected to cover the overall management of LinkedIn's visibility in the investment community, oversight of investor communications at one of the most visible business-oriented social networking companies, and how LinkedIn maintains its critical relationships with investors and analysts.

Matt joined LinkedIn shortly after its IPO in May 2011, and is currently leading their investor education efforts. Prior to joining LinkedIn, Matt performed equity research on the buy-side at Capital Research following a number of large-cap technology and semiconductor companies. Before his career in finance, Matt was an elementary school teacher in Washington as part of AmeriCorps. Matt has been recognized as a leader in the global investor relations community and earned the 2013 Best IR Professional, Internet, Buy and Sell Side award from Institutional Investor, the 2013 Best IR, Business Services/#2 Most Improved IR Program award from IR magazine, and the 2012 Best IR, IPO award from IR magazine. Matt earned his BA degree from UCLA and an MBA from Presidio Graduate School.
