On May 1, 2014, Xilinx, Inc. (Xilinx) announced that its Kintex® UltraScale' FPGAs are the first 20nm devices to achieve PCI Express® compliance and are now listed on the PCI-SIG® integrator's list. According to the Company, the Kintex UltraScale FPGAs have integrated Endpoint blocks for PCI Express enabling high performance applications. According to Xilinx, the UltraScale family supports Gen3 (8 Gb/s) speeds with up to x8 links and up to six integrated PCIe® blocks to facilitate high throughput applications such as wireline and data center applications requiring SRIOV with expandable physical and virtual functions. Autodesk, Inc. Analyst Notes
On May 7, 2014, Autodesk, Inc. (Autodesk) announced that it will offer free access to its professional 3D design software and creativity applications to schools in the U.S. and Canada as a part of its commitment to prepare an industry-ready workforce by removing barriers to software access. Autodesk's pledge is valued at over $460 million, and empowers educators at more than 35,000 middle schools, high schools, and higher education institutions in the U.S. and Canada. On May 12, 2014, Maxim Integrated Products Inc. (Maxim Integrated) announced the availability of Alameda subsystem - a flexible 4-channel bipolar analog output, ideal for industrial automation applications. As per the Company, the new subsystem generates four analog outputs with 33% fewer components using a high-efficiency reference design, which the designers may add to their industrial automation designs. It also improves PLC system reliability, by automatically detecting short-circuit, open-circuit, brown-out, and over temperature conditions. Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. Analyst Notes
On May 5, 2014, Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. (PSEG) issued a press release offering several spring safety tips for cleaning indoors and outdoors, just to ensure that people clean, organize and spruce up their yards safely after a long, hard winter.
