SEATTLE, June 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Customers who recycle or trade in their eligible device and purchase an ASUS PadFone XTM from AT&T will also provide support to Seattle students. Running now through Sept. 11, customers in Seattle who recycle or trade in their eligible devices and purchase an ASUS PadFone XTM will not only experience this innovative device, but will also will generate an AT&T-funded $5 donation (up to $25,000 total), to DonorsChoose, a charity that supports projects initiated by public school teachers for classrooms in need.
"Education and technology go hand-in-hand, as many teachers use technology to provide outstanding opportunities for learning in the classroom," said Bob Bass, President, AT&T Washington. "We invite the people of Seattle to clean out their drawers and bring in their eligible old cell phones, purchase the ASUS PadFone X' and support local education projects at the same time."
"The opportunity to support local teachers has inspired donors, corporations and foundations to contribute $240 million to public schools across the country," said Jason Yun, Partnership Manager at DonorsChoose in San Francisco, CA. "Our collaboration with AT&T in Seattle will give AT&T customers another easy way to support teachers' projects and students."

Since its inception, DonorsChoose has raised more than $240 million and helped nearly 11.5 million students with more than 460,000 projects funded.
